What I wore to the De Rosa wedding | Still life photography Candice Cameron |
Thirteen days ago on the 17th May 2014, two of my good friends Michelle and Nick became husband and wife.
Let's go back earlier this year to the month of February when I sat down with Michelle and Nick to talk through their ideas
for how they wanted their invitations to be.
Prior to this Michelle had invited me to a Pinterest board she had started, to share inspiration and ideas.
As they had originally met while both traveling Europe this was a main focal. Working with blues, yellows and golds I started
with a hand drawn illustration of a house in France. Usually when I do these sorts of illustrations I tend to colour them in Illustrator.
For this as they loved my watercolour art they wanted it to be one of the features for the invite.
The background is a rich ultramarine blue which I created with my Caran D'ache neocolor II water-soluble wax pastel. With Michelle and Nick's names I decided to collaborate and outsource the typography to my very talented husband Joel Cameron.
Layout wise I didn't want to clutter the invitation with too much type, so decided to included the addresses for both venues along with a hand drawn map on a separate card which would easily fit into a small handbag or pocket.
The final design consists of hand drawn illustrations, watercolour art and custom hand drawn typography.
